Tis the season for gift given. This could also be the most daunting time of year, for those who find it difficult to buy the perfect gift. I have compiled these simple guide lines to make your shopping a little less daunting. It is also the season to be your most generous, so have fun with it.
DRAW UP A LIST
Right a list of the giftees interests, spend a few minutes on this. This will help narrow down categories you should be considering. A gift that is aligned with someones interests shows how attentive and considerate you are.
FULFILL A NEED
Giving someone something they truly needs is really special. Everyone has a need that needs to be fulfilled see if you can meet that need, this makes for a thoughtful gift.
Make it an event when presenting the gift;
Use the Russian doll effect by hiding the gift in different size gift boxes.
Let a random stranger present/deliver the gift to your giftee.
Give them a map of where the gift is hidden.
I love giving picture frames to my loved ones. I’m the person that always carries my camera at family gathering and on weekend with friends. I capture all the good times, and when the year winds down, I frame some of the snapshots and give those as gifts at around Xmas. It’s my seasons ritual and its always appreciated.
GIVE AN EXPERIENCE
Buy someone an experience, tickets to a concert, or an event they will enjoy. This is a gift one will never forget. Gifts are always great if you can use them and create more memories.
GIVE YOUR TIME
Some people could do less with material things. Offer your time and something for them. Offer your time to babysit their kids while they go out on date night. Help them with their next home improvement project, offer to help them paint.
