Make-up trends for summer 2016 are colourful, edgy and simple. There’s a style to suit different occasions, personalities and lifestyles, don’t be afraid to try them all. No professional skills required, its that simple.
DEWY NATURAL LOOK
This is a no fuss look, stay away from that caked-up matt finish foundation look, put on as little as possible. Make sure you have that dewy natural look with a effortless glow. Lets see those freckles and beauty spots, its all about the skin. Add soft flesh stone bronzers for that extra shimmer and glow.
Blue eye-liner is quiet the craze this summer, it gives your eyes a fresh summer look. Try a thick line on the eyelids, or a thin application at the bottom of the eyes. Use different shades of blue, from sky blue, turquoise to navy blue.
Disco eye shadow, the more glitter is has the better, apply glitter eyeshadow to the entire eyelid. Try metallics such as copper and gold, looks exceptionally beautiful on our melanin rich skin tones. Pair it with a thick cat eye and you are good to go. Great for night time outings.
CLASSIC RED LIP
Red lips have been trending for a few seasons now, but the classic red glossy lip is back. We had traded the gloss for a matt finish in the past seasons, now we are fire engine red ready.
Make up colours for the season, try all make-up products from blush, eyeliner, lipstick and bronzers. Think peaches and oranges, these colours add the sunset to your face, they are warm and happy colours for the season.
MOODY WINTER LIPS, IN SUMMER
Usually this colour lip is reserved for the colder months, however the rule book has been tossed and the moody burgundy and eggplant lip will be trending this summer, as a day time look. Keep the rest of the face simple and add depth with a matt finish dark lipstick.
Whether it’s extensions or a bad mascara job, clumped up lashes are trending. We have moved slightly away from the perfectly separated lashes we’ve been obsessed about. I love this look because it makes your eyes pop. Effortless!
