Men’s fashion has become something to look forward to every season. As the streets and the runways dictate what is hot and happening at the moment, we do not want to be caught off-guard in the stores as we prepare for summer 2016/2017. Find the look that works for you and run with it, remember you don’t have to be a walking trend ball, less is more and pay attention to detail. I have put together a list of my favourite men’s trends for the upcoming summer season. Can’t wait to see our boys in full colour!
There are 3 main accent colours that will be popular this summer, summer grey, green and men in pink. Add colour with T-shirts, shorts, and shirts, and wear them with your everyday neutrals. The summer grey can be worn in a monochromatic fashion, where you have all shades of grey from head to toe.
DISTRESSED JEANS 2.0
The season’s jeans are even more distressed. Elements of patchwork and contrasting fabrics look amazing. The more homeless one looks the better. Thanks to the likes of Kanye West with his homeless take on fashion. Try distressed jeans in any colour, from classic denim blue to white or coloured denim.
PATTERN ON PATTERN
Print on print for the more daring gentleman. This is when you wear the same print on both top and pants, depending on the suite you choose, this look is complimented beautifully with gladiator sandals or snow white plimsolls.
These are 50’s inspired style shirts, think 2 tone silky shirts, or the linen kind with intricate top-stitching detail. Wear it tucked-in or over your pants and you are good to go. Try colourful shirts for the best trending look this summer, and for the more adventurous guy, add a little summer silk scarf.
Neck-scarves are as important as your sunglasses and hat this summer. This look is synonymous with French Men’s style, however it has trickled through to many fashion capitals. It can look great with a plain white T-shirt of shirt, or folded underneath a crew neck top. Worth a try.
The white pant is great styles with pops of color, so incorporate the greens and pinks of the season. Try keep the shoes light in colour eg. grey/beige/dusty-brown etc. This look is great for an outdoor summer event.
Backpacks have been taken to new heights of sleekness!! The backpack revolution started a few seasons back, now its a level where you can shamelessly take your backpack to the boardroom. They come in beautiful design and finishes, made of high end leathers and fabrics. The backpack will never be looked at the same again and we love it.
