As we experience the last few weeks of winter in the southern hemisphere, we can look forward to yummy summer fashion. The trends are happy and easy to incorporate into your existing summer wardrobe. Let me help you plan. Summer 2016 trends are full of colour and play. Some are a take on 90’s basics, and others are inspired by our very own bedtime comforts. Find what works for you and lets look fabulous this summer.
THE FLAT MULE
I love this shoe trend because it promotes comfort, I’m an advocate of being comfortable and fashionable at the same time. There are great variations of the flat mule, from pointy for to peep-toe. Choose your style and rock it with cropped pants or maxi dresses. I also think you should have more than one pair.
PAPER BAG WAISTBAND
This waistband is reminiscent of the good old paper bag when its scrunched up in your hand. Imagine intentionally tying you belt a little too tight. This look is awesome with simple plain tops or blouses.
OFF THE SHOULDER
One of the most flattering styles for most woman is the off the shoulder top. Its sexy and very feminine.
Finally we can take our Pj’s to the street! Okay not quiet all types of nightwear. The Pj trend is one of my favorites. Its also easy and comfortable. Try the silk button down kind, piping is key, pair them with your flat mules or a beautiful high heeled sandal and you good to go.
Think summer ventilation and sports lux’. This look is versatile and edgy. Use it as a summer cover-up or full on outfit, accent it with a beautiful fashion sneaker and take to the streets.
This trends reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen, from the humble table cloth to the runway and now the streets. Gingham is a very feminine fabric, but looks amazing on men’s shirts too. Borrow your mans shirt and pair with your favorite jeans for an effortless look, or get yourself a pretty summer off the shoulder summer frock for your next tea party commitment.
I’m counting the days to summer, hope this style guide will help in planning the altimate summer style.
