Every year the Best Of Joburg (free publication) celebrates the best that Johannesburg has to offer, from all sphere’s of lifestyle. It is that time of year where we will have a lot more time on our hands to explore and enjoy the best of our city. Here are my best of Joburg, what are your?
This has been my best breakfast spot for 2 years now, I love how simple their selection is, but prepared very well and consistent. Their scrambled eggs are creamy and fluffy.
Croft & Co – 66 Tyrone Ave, Parkview
This place has the best beans in town. Beyond their beautifully decorated quaint little space in Braamfontein, I enjoy their coffee at home. You can ask them to grind the beans for you, so you can also enjoy that perfect cup at home. They also have added roasts from Ethiopia to their bean selection.
FATHER COFFEE – De Beer Street, Braamfontein
Chesa nyama’s have come a long way since the days of it being a place for men to indulge in great meat cuts and a good beer. I enjoy Chisa-Nyama’s that cater for the lady patrons too, which for me means proper clean loo’s, enough seating and a beautiful space overall.
MASH BRAAI HOUSE – Sloane Square – Bryanston
BEST PICNIC SPOT
Outdoor places come alive during this time. Picnics are awesome with friends and family as the year winds down and we enjoy our out door spaces. I have 2 spots in particular that I adore.
NIROX SCULPTURE PARK – (Private Park) – Cradle of Human kind
WALTER SISULU BOTANICAL GARDENS – Malcolm Rd, Poortview, Rooderpoort
Burgers are a big part of our junk food indulgence, and there has been a lot of burger joints that have sprung up across town. This is my favourite at the moment…whats yours?
GBC – THE GREAT BURGER PLACE – Illovo Junction – Illovo
